Manual operation
Axis movements and infeeds continue to be controlled directly using the familiar handwheels and controls.
The natural evolution of the conventional lathe: The COMEV MTE combines direct manual operation with modern electronic drives, freely adjustable feeds, and high repeat accuracy.
The MTE series retains the direct operating feel of a conventional lathe and enhances it with the possibilities of modern electronic drive technology.
The operator continues to work directly at the machine. However, spindle speed, feed, and processing parameters can be adjusted significantly more flexibly and comfortably than with a purely mechanical lathe.
This makes the MTE suitable for individual parts and repairs as well as for repeated machining, small series, and demanding training applications.
The MTE is designed for users who want to work flexibly and manually without foregoing electronic assistance and modern drive technology.
Axis movements and infeeds continue to be controlled directly using the familiar handwheels and controls.
The spindle and axes are electronically controlled. This provides continuously variable speeds and freely selectable feeds.
Recurring settings can be reproduced more quickly and machining performed more conveniently.
The E-Series combines powerful electrical components with clear, workshop-oriented operation.
The spindle speed can be adjusted flexibly throughout the entire working range. There is no need to change numerous mechanical gearbox stages.
The feed axes are electrically driven. This provides precise and freely adjustable longitudinal and cross feeds.
Ball screws reduce friction and backlash. This supports smooth movements and high repeatability.
Instead of fixed mechanical stages, feeds can be adjusted to suit the material, tool and machining task.
Thread pitches are set electronically. Time-consuming changes of mechanical gears are unnecessary for many machining tasks.
Automatic lubrication ensures an even supply to the guideways and reduces manual maintenance.
The controls are clearly arranged and support direct, transparent operation at the machine.
Clearly labelled buttons and selector switches enable fast operation without nested CNC menus.
The powerful spindle drive provides flexibly adjustable speeds throughout the working range.
Electronics, safety systems, digital readout and conventional manual operation form a compact machine unit.
