The modern COMEV solution for quickly manufactured CNC turned parts

The CDR 20 expands the COMEV program with a compact slant bed machine for productive CNC machining. It was designed for companies that require short cycle times, effective chip removal, and reproducible precision.

The slant bed allows chips to fall freely out of the working area while the turret, chuck, and tailstock remain easily accessible.

The machine is suitable for both flexible single orders and recurring small, medium, and large series.

The CDR concept

Fast processes and reliable process control

The combination of slant bed, automatic turret, powerful CNC, and optional automation forms the basis for economical series production.

01

Slant bed construction

The inclined machine structure improves chip removal, provides good accessibility, and supports a compact, rigid machine design.

02

High axis dynamics

Rapid travels up to 30 m/min on the X-axis and 20 m/min on the Z-axis reduce non-productive times.

03

Manufacturing prepared for automation

The machine can be expanded into a manufacturing cell with a robot, workpiece feed, and automatic loading and unloading.

Short travel distances in the working area Turret, clamping chuck, and tailstock are compactly and manufacturing-friendly arranged.
Production technology

Designed for short cycle times

The CDR 20 combines fast positioning movements with a compact working area and an automatic eight-station turret.

01

Main spindle speed: 4,200 rpm

The wide speed range supports both smaller precision parts and demanding machining operations up to 300 mm in diameter.

02

Tool system VDI 40

Eight tool stations enable flexible combinations of turning, drilling and optional driven tools.

03

Integrated chip conveyor

The standard chip conveyor supports continuous machining and reduces manual cleaning work.

04

Protected working area

The full machine enclosure protects the operator and safely contains chips and coolant within the machine area.

Z32 CNC and Lathe++

Flexible programming for different users

The PC-based Z32 control operates on a real-time Linux platform. Programs can be created in ISO standard, in Fanuc-oriented G-code, or interactively with Lathe++.

Dialogprogrammierung mit Lathe++ Machining sequences are created using clear inputs and graphically supported cycles.
ISO-Programmierung The complete ISO programming environment is available to experienced CNC users.
Fanuc-orientierter G-Code Existing programming experience and many existing programs can be transferred more easily.
Anpassbare Software COMEV and D.Electron can adapt control functions for special machining processes.

Integrated machining cycles

Prepared for typical turning operations

The CNC supports numerous practical cycles for turning, drilling, threading, and milling operations.

Roughing Efficient material removal with automatically generated roughing paths.
Preliminary machining Preparing the contour for uniform, precise finish machining.
Finishing Precision finishing of cylindrical and profiled contours.
Face turning Guided machining of end faces and shoulders.
Grooving and parting off Programmable grooves, recesses and undercut contours.
Thread turning Cylindrical and tapered threads with defined pitch and infeed parameters.
Drilling Axial drilling with stationary or optionally driven tools.
Polygonmilling Production of polygonal contours with the appropriate machine configuration.
Slot milling Machining grooves and keyways with optional driven tools.

CDR 20 Oscar 2.0

Designed for automated production processes

As part of the MAPP research project, the CDR 20 was further developed as an automation-ready production machine. A robot cell can load, machine and subsequently unload workpieces.

Automatic workpiece loading A robot picks up blanks from a supply system and feeds them to the machine.
Unmanned machining After setup, complete production cycles can run without continuous operator intervention.
Automatische Entladung Finished parts are removed from the chuck and placed in an orderly manner.
Individual gripper technology Grippers, workholding equipment and workpiece feed are designed to suit the component geometry.
