16 mechanical spindle speeds
The one-piece headstock contains a mechanical gearbox with 16 geometrically stepped speeds. Hardened and ground gears ensure precise, quiet operation.
Generously sized, powerful, and precise: The conventional COMEV lathes of the CM Series are designed for medium-sized workpieces and demanding machining tasks in manufacturing, maintenance, and toolmaking.
The COMEV CM is a conventional center lathe for precise machining of medium-sized workpieces.
Its robust construction allows for medium-heavy machining without sacrificing the sensitivity and direct control of a conventional lathe.
With a 110 mm spindle bore, a swing diameter over the bed of up to 800 mm, and turning lengths of up to 4,000 mm, the series is also suitable for larger shafts, flanges, bushings, and repair parts.
High-quality mechanical assemblies and generously sized components form the basis of the CM series.
The one-piece headstock contains a mechanical gearbox with 16 geometrically stepped speeds. Hardened and ground gears ensure precise, quiet operation.
The hardened and precision-ground main spindle features an 8-inch Camlock mount and runs in high-precision tapered roller bearings.
The enclosed, oil-bath-lubricated Norton gearbox provides 72 longitudinal and cross feeds as well as numerous metric, Whitworth, module and diametral-pitch threads.
The generously sized saddle and cross slide provide high rigidity while remaining precisely controllable during manual infeed movements.
The wide machine bed provides a stable foundation for precise machining and high cutting performance, even with long workpieces.
The hardened and ground tailstock quill has a diameter of 100 mm, a stroke of 300 mm and an MT5 taper.
Clear control elements, good accessibility, and robust components facilitate setup and machining.
The workpiece, toolholder and tailstock remain easily accessible and can be set up directly.
Generously dimensioned guideways and mechanical handwheels enable controlled infeed movements.
The digital readout assists the operator with precise infeed movements and monitoring of axis positions.
Four center heights and turning lengths up to 4,000 mm allow the machine to be adapted to different workpiece sizes.
260 mm centre height and 520 mm swing over the machine bed.
300 mm centre height and 600 mm swing for larger workpieces.
350 mm centre height, 700 mm swing and 9.2 kW spindle motor.
Largest version with a 400 mm centre height and 800 mm swing.
